Through dedicated work, personal tutoring, and relentless determination, I earned my place at the University of California, Berkeley — one of the greatest universities in the world — and graduated with a 3.0 GPA. I didn't belong there on paper. But I belonged there in spirit — a Division I athlete with hearing loss proving that the disability does not define the destiny. After Berkeley, I built a career as a multi-million dollar employee benefits insurance broker — using the same drive that carried me through college. Then my passion brought me back to the beginning: hearing loss. The condition I was born with became the mission I was built for.
